History of the Yellow Box
Version 1
The Yellow Box v1 was designed in 1998 and only suited the Suzuki
motorcycle speedo systems. Designed for high reliability and accuracy
the Yellow Box soon earned a reputation as the rugged speedo recalibrator.
Version 2
With the popularity of the original Yellow Box speedo recalibrator we
soon received enquiries from owners of other bikes and cars wanting a
product that suited their vehicles. During that redesign, the Yellow Box v2
shrunk to 2.5 x 1.8 inches and strengthened its place as the world's
smallest and most rugged speedo recalibrator.
Version 3
During 2001 we produced an even smaller and lighter Yellow Box v3.
The v3 product also gained a speed improvement and two versions were
released; bike and car models. A special kph-mph conversion mode was
added to provide mph conversion for imported vehicles. Like all the
Yellow Box models the v3 has the flashing light feature and special
test modes.
Version 4
After seven years of producing the worlds premier speedo recalibrator it was
time for a bit of a facelift. Our new custom styled, super compact design
made the v4 even smaller and lighter than the v3. All of our long-trusted
reliability and ruggedness features are continued in the v4. It now includes
an inbuilt extra strong mounting hole and additional strength support around
the connector plug.
Performance improvements include a wider correction range and a new
output test mode. It now provides both kph-mph, and mph-kph conversion
for imported vehicles or when travelling.
